Unknown criminals gang-rape, slit throat of woman in Jigawa
Unknown criminals have reportedly gang-raped and slaughtered Ummi Garba, a 26-year-old housewife from Jigawa State’s Hadejia local government area.
The incident happened on Wednesday night, June 1, at Warwadi quarters in Hadejia town, according to a resident of the neighbourhood.
The resident stated that the horrible incident occurred when the criminals took advantage of the absence of the deceased’s husband, and sneaked into the house, raped and slaughtered her.
The state’s police spokesman, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, while confirming the incident, stated that, “The terrible incident happened on June 1, 2022, at about 6:15 pm, when some unknown persons stormed the compound of a 26-year-old housewife identified as Ummi Garba at Warwadi Quarters, in Hadejia local government area, and used a sharp object to slit her throat, after she had been gang-raped.
“A team of policemen rushed to the scene after receiving the information, and the victim was immediately rushed to the General hospital, Hadejia for treatment.
“However, the victim died while receiving treatment,” the police spokesman said.
Shiisu added that the case was under investigation, and efforts were on top gear to nab the culprits.
