The Delta State Police Command have arrested a Toyota Hiace bus driver, Innocent Uboh, at the Onitsha head-bridge in Asaba, Delta state, for the possession of live cartridges.

The only occupant driving the bus with registration number ‘FGG 645 ZV’ was the driver, a resident of Ogume in Ndokwa West local government.

The police operatives recovered one thousand, one hundred and twenty-four (1,124) rounds of live cartridges, twenty (20) bottles of codeine, and other illicit drugs from the vehicle after a thorough search.

The state’s police command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the arrest in a statement signed by the state’s police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “The suspect claimed that the cartridges belonged to a 61-year-old man named Monday Adibeli, in Ogume.

“On the strength of this information, operatives were deployed to Ogume where the alleged owner of the cartridges was arrested.”

The state’s police spokesman added that investigation is ongoing.
